The Maryland State Board of Physicians Has Suspended Dr. Bryan Williams’s License to Practice Medicine

On May 18, 2016 the Maryland State Board of Physicians suspended Dr. Bryan Williams’s license to practice medicine. Here is the Order suspending Dr. Williams’s license to practice.

This action was taken after investigation into multiple complaints from patients. At least two female patients alleged that Dr. Williams touched them inappropriately during their examination. A third complaint was received from a primary care physician who reported that a patient had complained that Dr. Williams had touched them inappropriately. Dr. Williams practice medicine with Kaiser at the time of the alleged assaults. He has been affiliated with the following health clinics: Kaiser Health Center in Kensington, MD; Kaiser Largo Medical Center; Inova Alexandria Hospital; and, Holy Cross Hospital.

Dr. Bryan Williams and Kaiser Sued After Sexual Misconduct Allegations

On June 2 Linda D. Johnson sued Dr. Williams and Kaiser in Prince George’s County. Johnson alleges that she treated with Dr. Williams in June 2013 for a low back steroid injection. According to the Complaint, Dr. Williams inappropriately touched Johnson prior to the procedure. When Johnson complained and asked Dr. Williams why he was touching near her vagina, Dr. Williams advised the plaintiff not to worry and told her that “it’ll be alright.” No chaperone was present in the room at the time of the examination.

Johnson subsequently reported the events to her primary care physician, who was also employed by Kaiser. The Complaint alleges that Kaiser conducted a perfunctory investigation, at which time it questioned whether Johnson was telling the truth. Johnson alleges that various comments made to her by Kaiser are defamatory and false.

Johnson seeks punitive damages.
